While a man was polishing his new car, his 4 year old son picked up stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child’s hand & hit it many times, not realizing he was using a wrench. At the hospital, the poor child lost all his fingers due to multiple Fractures. When the child saw his father…..with painful eyes he asked ‘Dad when will my fingers grow back?’ The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions…… sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches, the child had written ‘LOVE YOU DAD’. The next day that man committed suicide. . .
Anger and Love have no limits, Choose the latter to have a beautiful and lovely life ….Things are to be used and people are to be loved, But the problem in today’s world is that, People are used and things are loved…
……Think about it and make the difference!!
(Story supplied by unknown reader)
Man has evolved into a highly insatiable being, never full, never satisfied, never happy, always complaining. Even when he is never hungry, never sick, never lacking. In spite of the Creator’s abundant provisions for man, he keeps complaining over everything under the sun. Hear him: The sun is rising too early today, it is too sunny today, the rain is disturbing my trip, I would have loved it cold this evening, the heat is killing, Why is it less cloudy this afternoon, and on! And on!! And on!!!
The truth is that all these things we keep complaining about are same things that are sustaining us and thus their positive roles in balancing act of creation.
Ever heard the story of the fowl?
There is virtually nothing this animal does not eat and comfortably too, yet it keeps complaining it has no teeth like other animals. One wonders what would have happened to the fowl if it has teeth. Do you think its line of complains would stop? Man seems to have been moulded along the line of fowls.
The year is grinding to an end and we have every reason to be thankful. Let us stop for once and ponder about God’s goodness unto us and give Him compliments instead of tons of daily complains.
Little beginning has an outstanding and great effect on us. In most cases these effects impact positively on the outcome of our future. Little and low beginning tasks our mental, spiritual and physical ability. It prepares us for the future by offering us a larger opportunity early enough through testing of our competence and through which our confidence could be boosted.
Just like the house is not built from the roof top, a humble and simple beginning guarantee that strong and reliable foundation needed to ground and support our huge future successes. Strings of success of little beginnings offer us the needed assurance that we are capable and experienced enough to achieve and manage our objectives.
Since we were not born as men and women but as babies, we all need to start from the smaller picture and graduate into the big screen but thinking big is never out of it; it is actually cultivated from this humble start. The Good Books say “he who is faithful in the little is faithful in much”
Yes begin from the very beginning and grow with wisdom. It is a known fact that most great achievements usually have humble beginning.
Dreaming!! Can it ever transform into reality?
This is what is popularly refered to as Power of Dreams and it is possible to move your willful dreams some giant steps forward into reality. Infact success is said to start with a dream, no matter how small. Martin Luther King Jnr. is credited with the popular “I have a dream” freedom rendition which translated into the present day free American society.
The power of dreams… So unimaginable!!
It is usually dreams that take us beyond our wildest expectations. They determine what becomes of our life – whether success or failure; big or small. They speak and engage our subconscious minds. They tell us “we can be what we want to be or we must be what we want to be” Big dreams bring big breakthroughs while little ones come with little successes. These are established facts!
But dreams do not materialize if we fail to work our dreams! Some call it a step of faith. We must move with some elements of effort and hardwork toward our dreams. No one can hope for good harvest without planting and tendering the crops. So also are dreams, they need to be watered, fed and nurtured into reality. Dreams Alive!
Never lose hope in your dreams! Never lose faith in your ability!! Just be patient, believe and pray. Your dream will see the light one day. Alas, the future waits, it beckons on you to dream, dream big, give it life, go ahead and conquer! Do not quit dreaming, it gives reasons for success!!
This illusion that many see and touch each day takes the form of the Dollar, Pounds, Euros, and Yen. But these are only the most familiar of the infinite illusions created by the idea of money. Time is proverbially money! And so are blood and drugs where need be. A mobile phone business can be a bank and so is human trafficking. The world is full of illusions and thoughts of different shapes and sizes.
Again, ever thought of what is on or under the surface of money we handle everyday? Everything!

A wide variety of substances penetrate money every time it changes hands. Touched once, twice, a hundred or million times, money bears the traces of those who have touched it along with evidence of their activities – drugs, blood, bribes, religion, oil, slavery, even the very less savory among them.
It is reported that a laboratory analysis of used money reveals substances made-up of not only the chemistry of money but also its very essence – the metaphor for non conventional payments, inheritances, savings, transactions, loans and bankruptcies. Money is said to have many colors some of which are good and others evil. People do all sorts of crazy things for money. No wonder the Holy books describe it as the major source of evil even though it answers all questions at the same time. But again, the wisest man in the Bible – Solomon summed up money as all “vanity”.
What then is your color and perception of this illusion called “Money” Think about it!
I have just rose from an arena of argument, an healthy one all the same. We were all having lunch in a friend’s home when an unfortunate news of another friend’s death by road accident was broken to us by his brother that just rushed in for that purpose. It was a very pathetic and gory situation as our friend who had just won a commonwealth employment was reported to have been mangled beyond recognititon in the accident.
But that was not the major point of our delibration, the heated debate ensured when the only lady in our midst exclaimed “God forbid, it can never be my portion !” The question now was asked, who among the victims of undesirable circumstances, have ever woke up with the wish for such circumstances that befall them!
It is also a common exclaimation by victims to say “why me? why not someone else?” Fine, if not you, then who else? Why do we think we are more special that the next fellow so that such calamity does not befit us but the other person?
Our first line of thinking when something negative happens to us is wishing we were not the victims! That you will say is human, but if we can take a little while to consider this issue, we would discover the truth that everyone of us is the same in the sight of our Creator, and so we are made to experience both the positive and negative sides of life. No wonder the Good Book counsels us to be ready to give thanks at all times, no matter the situation we find ourselves.
I’ll rather say, if it happens to us and we are already in it, wishing it away a hundred times cannot solve the problem, but if alive, we can raise our head out of the waters and focus on the positive side by finding out why it happened and what can be done to prevent future occurence. And for us the lucky bystanders, it can be our portion next moment if we just wish it away verbally without working to truely avert a similar calamity. Even with this, nature has made it mandatory for everyman to taste the bitter and the sweet pills of life one way or the other!
So, take whatever happens to you in your stride, or whatever happens to your neighbour, believing that we are equal to what happens to us and never superior to the next victim. We are all equal before our Creator!
Think about it and share your thought with us!
Meditation!
Yes, that is what I have been doing these past days about how money and time colligate. In my part of the world is a popular song title “Time Na Money” which is interpreted as “Time is Money” but I still could not get it. I have all the time but I do not have money, how then could time make money? It was not until my close friend and confidant strolled into my house this morning that it started to sink in better. Here’s Okon’s sermon on Time and Money:
For the disciplined mind, these two; Time and Money, will always go together and they tend to work in obedience to each other. They are able to approximate and comfortably compliment each other in such fashion that you can simply see both as identical twins.
The truth is that, the man who has mastery over his time also has a better and easier chance of making money. How?
The man who took the right decision at the very right time and does not waver but remain resolute and consistent can only attract nothing but success and money to himself. However, he that has no control over his time cannot earn sufficient experience to make money. Just a minute could make the negative or positive difference in money and success terms. So, use well your time and make enough money and success.
“Thank you” was all I could mutter in appreciation to my friend, Okon. I hope you do same as I share this short take with you! Have a great day.
On the 27th of March 2008 at about 12:30pm, I boarded the British Airways flight BA75 and I went straight to seat 53C. On getting to my seat, there were noises from an individual being forcibly restrained but who was not visible because some police officers and some plain clothes people held him down. The noise continued for more than 20 minutes and I was concerned because the individual was screaming in agony and shouting in pidgin (local) English “I go die – o” meaning, I will die. I pleaded with the officers not to kill him and my exact words were “please don’t kill him”. The British Airways staff said that the officers were doing their jobs and that nothing was going to happen. The noise became louder and other passengers started getting concerned and were complaining especially about their safety. The situation continued for another 15 minutes after I got on.
Eventually, a member of the cabin crew announced that the passenger was going to be removed and the passenger was removed from the plane and we all thought that was the end of the situation. Five minutes later, two members of the cabin crew arrived with about 4 police officers and told me to get off the plane. I asked what the matter was and they said that I was not going to travel with the airline because the cabin crew thought I had been disruptive by questioning the noise being caused by the person that was removed. I pleaded with them that I was going for my brother’s wedding and that I had all his stuff with me. I was dragged out of the plane as if I was resisting arrest. As we got to the corridor that linked the plane with the terminal building, I was slammed against the wall and made to sit on the floor. I was still pleading with them telling them that they had completely misunderstood me and that I was only complaining about the situation regarding the disturbances caused by the deportee they were trying to restrain and subdue. I was on the floor for about 20 to 25 minutes. Another passenger was brought to the corridor as well and he was also pleading with the officers.
I was later put in the back of the police van at about 1:50pm and I was locked up and…. READ ON..
